I have a lovely blue jay that I see every day, but I also have a problem with mice getting into the basement of my house now. Is it possible to get the birds without the mice?

Birdfeeder mice This is such an incredible problem for me. I have tried everything and now I am on the verge of getting rid of the bird feeder. Please somebody please rescue the poor starving birds around my house in the winter by telling me how to get rid of my mouse problem that has come about because of all the spilled seeds.
