    Q. I need dog boots that will stay on?

The ones that work the best go up to the dogs elbow and tie over it. That way its impossible for them to come off. I also found some neat shoes at the dollar store believe it or not, and they have stretchy Velcro, but in the end they come off. Like I said the only real solution is ones that tie above the dog`s elbow.

    Q. What do you think about the dog booties?
i have a chi., and just ordered a pair of cowboy booties(shoes) for her on ebay, she's always cold and shivering, and it's starting to get a lot colder here, do think the booties will help her stay warm, or was it a waste of 8bucks?

"The boots will keep snow out of her paws and help keep her warm..."

Good idea. If she will wear them. The boots will keep snow out of her paws and help keep her warm. Get her a matching coat to go with them.

    Q. Looking for dog booties.?
i have 2 shelties who are 95% indoor dogs; therefore when temps get below 10 degrees, their paws really bother them when they go outside to relieve themselves. i have purchased 3 different sets of booties, even muttluks, but none of them stay on. anyone know where i can get dog booties that will not slide off their paws when they walk in the snow?

http://www.petco or http://www.petsmart may have some.

    Q. How do i keep my dog from running away to look for booty?
i have a 2 year old mixed-breed male with all his parts..and i want him to keep them! trouble is, here in the spring and fall, he escapes from our fenced-in yard to look for booty in the neighborhood. the biggest problem with this is that we live next to a very heavily traveled road and he has no qualms about crossing it in search of doggy-booty! when it´s not the season for dog-sex he stays in the yard without being chained like the good dog he usually is. this time of year we can´t leave him alone 5 minutes before he gets out and follows his nose to the next female dog (yahoo bleeps the b-word!) in heat. i don´t want to chain him in the yard because that´s not the point of being outside. will greatly appreciate any real help with this matter. please do not suggest i have him neutered..i feel he has the right to keep all the parts he was born with and canine genital mutilation is a big of a crime as human genital mutilation.

    Keep him inside.

    Q. Should i get this for my dog?
should i get my dog booties... she is an 8 lb poodle mix and, since it's snowing now, every time she goes outside to play or potty, snow gets stuck to her feet and she gets very cold and can only stay out for a couple minutes. would booties (dog boots) be useful and keep her warm? would they just fall off in the snow? i got her a coat to keep warm, but she still gets cold fast cause of the snow getting stuck on her feet. thank you

That is a really good idea if she is getting it stuck in her paws it will probaly help her keep a lil bit warmer and now as long as they fit her they will not fall off in the snow she may not like them cause she will feel restriced Good luck

    Q. Boots for larger dogs that stay on?
i have a 50lb golden ret. mix and live in northern mn. we have tried different types of booties and they all fall off. do you know any good brands for snowy or wet conditions? anyone tried the ones from uglydog with the zipper and velcro? the dog would be wearing them for several hours and i would think suspenders would rub too hard...plus they look ridiculous!

"You may be able to use the boots you already have..i go to the..."

You may be able to use the boots you already have..I go to the thrift shops and buy men's suspenders! Put the middle of the suspenders on the dog's back, and then attach each end to a boot.. I wish I could show you a pic to explain, but if you get a set of suspenders, you will see how it works..They are adjustable enough to fit medium to very large dogs.. If the boots are big or heavy, you may need two sets of suspenders, so that one clip attaches to the inside of the boot top, and one attaches to the outside.. Our county search and rescue teams use this method..

    Q. What dog clothing should i get?
ok before i get stupid answers....here's why i'm buying it. 1) booties - for those days when the ground is freezing or those days when it is 100+ outside. the ground is very hot/cold. 2) warmth - one of my dogs has a single thin coat and i think it is hard for him to keep warm. he shivers most of the time and doesn't like to stay in his crate all day. 3) cooler - my single thin coat dog is black and just dies in the sun. my other dogs have double coats and long walks just kill em. also one of my dogs might do agility. i plan on getting a cooling pad also. can anyone give info or send a link with more info on stuff? or can anyone r sorry that r is for recommend. also does anyone have a good brand of raincoat? i hate to take my guys for a walk and be nice and dry but have them all soaked and cold. ok for you guys who don't understand. booties...are 100% needed. 1) wild dogs are on earth....not cement. why don't you try walking on the street when its 100*f outside? 2) my little guy who i want a sweater for. i'm pretty sure wolves have a double coat....and those shorthaired breeds originated in warm climates. when it gets down to 20*f (thats freezing isn't it?) i want you to take off all your clothes and sit in your house. also go for your walks with a thin coat on and barefoot while its raining outside. 3) reflective wear helps cool an animal (this is why spring people clothing is usually bright colored.....get it?). when you see most wild dogs (wolves and all) they tend to nap all day. my dogs are out and soon doing sports. practice takes a while and can seem even longer in the sun. if you owned a horse maybe you would understand a little better. you probably think they don't need their covers either..... and nature didn't make dogs....people did. this is why they are domestic and not tame.

"I like the guardian gear brand all-weather dog boots..."

Booties - find a good all-weather set. I like the Guardian Gear brand All-Weather Dog Boots. They are made well and stay on with good Velcro straps. Coats - again, I would recommend Guardian Gear or Casual Canine. But if you also want warmth you might consider having a full body suit made especially for your dog by RuffKnits - a great company out of Canada. I ordered a snowsuit for a client's dachshund. It fit perfectly and kept him quite comfortable through our windy Wyoming winter. Hang in there. Some of us do understand and our pet's comfort is important.

    Q. Dog is scared to walk on floors?
for some strange reason my schnauzer is scared to walk on our hardwood floors. she's never been this way until here lately. its like she trying to walk on ice. we think she might have fell or something and hurt herself. she only wants to stay on the rugs or the carpet. any suggestions on trying to help her get over this. i've tried the booties but that seems to freak her out too. i've got to figure something out b/c she's killing the floor.

If you wax the wood floors then she has probably , gotten excited when you came home and slipped on the floor .Their foot pads are good for that !

    Q. Any advice about putting booties on my dramatic little dog?
he quivers and shakes, even though i am so gentle with him. it is impossible to lift his back legs, cut his nails or put on boots. since it feels like -20 outside, he has already felt the advantage of these little boots and showed them off to his big doggy friend next door. but, yesterday he got all upset and only wanted them on his front feet. today is colder so i started by trying to clip his nails, and it was impossible. then when he was all excited about going out, he got all upset over the front boots, quivering with his ears back, when i went to put them on his back legs i coaxed him to put one on, even when he growled, but when i tried on the otherside he got super vicious and went for me and sunk his teeth into my hand. i pushed him down by putting my hand on the middle of his back but that was all i could do because my hand was bleeding. needless to say, i told him he was a bad dog and we went on our walk. he was really remorseful when we came in, and stayed near the door and under the table. normally he is jumping all over the place and happy. any advice on dealing with him? i think that he might have sore back legs but that is just speculation, he has never liked his back legs touched and doing his nails has always been a problem.

"Goes on walks and he doesnt wear booties..."

my dog runs around in the snow and goes on walks and he doesnt wear booties . just a sweater :) so if he doesnt want to wear them that is okay. if he bites you again, spank his nose so that he will not do it again and then put him somewhere in a timeout. he might be upset with wearing clothes becuase sometimes my dog doesnt want to put on his sweater. but dogs were originally meant to live outdoors so he will manage. oh and you might want to get him used to getting his nails trimmed and going to the vet by "pretending" to be a vet and open his mouth, touch his ears, lift up his legs and stuff like that.
