Can I keep a field mouse in a cage?

Hi, my cat caught a field mouse and i didn`t want him to kill him, so i put him in a box untill i got my mouse cage clean then i put bedding in and some cheerios and seeds. after i put him in, he seemed th be doing well, climbing up in the tower, eating food, going in the spinng wheel, i came in today and he went up in his tower and came back down and went to his little burrow he made. but it`s like 16 degreese out there, and i don`t want him to get wet, or freeze to death. i hate seeing mice die. i`ve had 12 of them some wild, some tame. i want to know what to do. will someone help me?

    I would say no because it can get under 16 degrees out there. And they might freeze to death. And I personaly don`t like to see mice die.

    I`ve been asking the same kind of question, because I, myself have a mouse, I captured last week. It`s got an injured leg from my cat, so I`ve rescured it, and placed it in a cage. I tried letting it go, but it kind of go`s in circles, because of his injury. Untill, his leg is better and it`s warmer out-side, I`m going to take care of it. If you find out anytthing, let me know, because I`m interested, myself to see what is the best thing to do. Thanx and sorry, I couldn`t be more help.

    I had an exterminator tell me that your average mouse can fit through a hole the size of a dime. be it in the wall, in the basement, in the foundation, under the stairs, they arent picky so long as a food source is available and its relatively dry and warm. they arent even particular about the dry part so long as its warm.

    if it can get up there it will pee there. an easy way to tell if a mouse has urinated somewhere (if you really want to know) is with a flourescent light. if it has peed there recently it will show up a bright yellow green under the flourescent light.

    I have the same problem only it has chewed a hole in my screen so its literally on the window. I threw a snowball at it.. suddenly it is gone but Im half afraid it found its way inside. I keep thinkin glue trap but I dont have any yet. some would argue that its not humane.. I argue. neither are the diseases that it carries.
